Turnip Snowball as its name suggests is a variety that produces pale white globe shaped Turnips which have a wide variety of culinary uses in the kitchen. Each turnip will have a solid flesh with juicy sweet flavour. It is fast to crop and will be ready to harvest in 5-8 weeks from sowing, giving a good supply from early summer to early winter. The tops are nutritious and can be used as ‘tasty greens’.Turnips grow best on rich well manured soil but will grow on ordinary fertile soil to which has been added plenty of well rotted compost.
